the gallery of lost art

How ironic and paradoxical the name of this exhibition is: The Gallery of Lost Art. How can one display art pieces that have been gone or non-existent. But Tate Modern has brought these pieces back to us through the online exhibition. These invaluable pieces are lost in many ways could they be destroyed, stolen, erased or simply disappeared. Tate redefined these pieces by research and using replicas and bring them back to ‘life’. The idea is one-of-a-kind and the site experience is quite amazing, you can browse freely and casually as if you are strolling in a gallery or museum. Featured work includes masters such as Miro, Willem De Kooning, Marcel Duchamp etc. And additional pieces will be progressively added to the collection from time to time, so there is really a reason to go back to the gallery to see what new ones are. This initiative is really opening art lovers’ horizon by eliminating the boundaries of physical locations cause us. Art is free! (For one year only, visit while it lasts. Site ends 3 July 2013)
