not magazine

Danielle picked this up from her friend’s store Konzepp. Not Magazine from China is only 6 months old and has published the 4th issue by now. I was reading the editor’s note which described how difficult it is for their small team to sustain and by far, already 3 staff have left the team remaining the core people who carries with them the ambition, the vision and the mission. I wish them a fruitful year of 2012 and persist to bring us abundant inspiration.

sunny clockenflap 2011

Clockenflap + 2 full days of glorious weather = unforgettable and chilly fun tunes in the open air! Took a few snaps of our studio friends Jing Wong from Daydream Nation and Jay from China Stylus. The venue at West Kowloon is great, we just need more, more, more of these events in Hong Kong!

Jing mesmerizing the crowd with his acoustic guitar and harmonica at the same time!

Jay FC on the other booth is spinning some techno tunes, everyone is high!

bamboo theater

Preservation of art and history has always been a hot topic in Hong Kong and particularly more so in the past decade. Some of you might recall the debate about the relocation of the Star Ferry Pier, the decision of the SCAD Hong Kong taking over the North Kowloon Magistracy which was acutely been fought over by the Cantonese opera group. Cantonese opera has been quite a niche interest especially for the silver hair population. To revitalize attention of this special culture amongst the mass public, the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority  has initiated the establishment of a Bamboo Theater to promote the merits of this local music culture. This event marks the debut performance of the WKCD for next year and we certainly do look forward to experiencing more mind enlightening events like this for the new year.
