Client Blindspot Gallery
Description

Blindspot Gallery focuses on photography and art in Hong Kong. The name of this art space is inspired by Roland Barthes’s Camera Lucida, in which describes how he feels touched by photographs, because of incidental details which trigger emotionally charged personal associations. It denotes the detail which establishes a direct relationship with the object or person within it. Blindspot sees what others don’t see. WHITESPACE explored themes and design directions based on vision; distorted, obscured, focus and light. The rawness of the space coupled with the slick contemporary gallery feel lends itself to a contrast between blurry and clarity, between distressed and refined. WHITESPACE developed simple identity system, signage and collaterals for the gallery and Annex.
