Future Industries (FI) is an innovative art organization founded in Hong Kong in 2011 to represent emerging and established artists. The company was born of a conviction that commercial galleries need to be more than businesses representing and dealing in art. Future Industries works with both private and public institutions, local and international, start-up and listed, in developing art projects that challenge the parameters of the ‘white cube’ project room. Whitespace worked with Future Industries to establish a brand identity that captures their innovative and creative alchemy — developing a symbol inspired by an hourglass with a retro-scientific look and feel. Whitespace also helped art direct the first publication, a volume on artist Simon Birch.
